HOW TO USE · FROM THE README INSIDE THE DOWNLOAD

Organizes hundreds of clips into bins in one click: by day, camera, type, format, color profile (V-Log, S-Log3…) or source folder — on one or two levels

(for example Day → Camera). An alternative to dragging clips around by hand at the start of every project.

How to use

1. Import your cards. In the Project panel select the bin (or the clips) to organize — or choose "Whole project".

2. Window → Extensions → DAEDAL Smart Bins.

3. Pick the grouping: Level 1 and Level 2 (Day, Camera, Type, Format, Color profile, Source folder, Extension). "Day starts at hour 5" keeps the party after midnight in the same wedding day.

4. "Preview" shows the bins and how many clips go in each. Nothing is moved yet.

5. "Organize" moves the clips. "Undo last organize" puts every clip back where it was and removes the empty bins.

Files on disk are never touched — only the bins inside the Premiere project.

How the camera is recognized

Metadata first (XMP, the XML file Sony writes next to every clip, the make/model tags of MP4/MOV files), then the file name pattern (Sony C0001, DJI_, GoPro GX/GH, iPhone IMG_, Panasonic P…, Canon MVI_, Zoom recorders…), then the name of the card folder. Two identical Sony bodies are told apart by their serial number.

Reading MP4/MOV tags needs ffprobe — it is included in DAEDAL Sync (free); without it the rest still works.

Install

Mac: quit Premiere, unzip, right-click "Instaleaza (Mac).command" → Open → Open.

Windows: quit Premiere, unzip, double-click "Instaleaza (Windows).bat".

Then Premiere → Window → Extensions → DAEDAL Smart Bins.
